| Hello! my blog!!! geeeez it's been a long time or what. well...i thought i should post a few notes while i still remember my password :P A LOT has happened since I last logged in...I don't need to remind you of the financial melt downs, the wars in the middle east, the snow storms, the Sarah Palins (real and Tina Fey), the nonstop media coverage of the election, the inauguration or the whole Aniston vs.Jolie drama....DO I? hahah. but one thing has not changed and that is times are tough. (TAT! copyright of my roomy Shanee). To that, I am offering some remedies to help relieve stress: *karaoking with my friend, PoPo. She is so loud she doesn't need a mic. and she knows every freaking song that's ever written. *alcoholic beverages, coffee, or redbull. *go to sleep early. let your brain unwind. *record some terrible shows on your DVR and watch them when you are down. Shows like...the real housewives of OC, mama's boys,...etc. They will make you feel like you are the smartest person on earth!!! *Lotto tickets. They allow you to dream...like a millionair.. for a few precious and genuine moments before numbers are drawn. *Exericise. contact sports will work best i think... *Champagne brunch or a decent meal. nothing extravegant. but you are better than a pack of instant noodles!! the list goes on...i will find another time to share them with you. i know this is a bit of a abrupt finish. but my lack of blogging-fitness is tiring me already. i shall come back stronger next time!! In the mean time. be good, boys and girls.

| this entry is going to offend some people for sure..but i don't care.
so..i am a big sports fan and i haven't been sleeping for the past week because of the Olympics. I am watching sports that I didn't use to watch at all or not as popular (synchronized diving, fencing, rowing...etc) and have come to appreciate all athletes' efforts and hard works. If you have ever been involved in some kind of competitive sport, you get it. While I know some people have elected to boycott Olympics' broadcasts for political/rights reasons, I personally feel that is tragic because these athletes deserve better. If you heard how loud the Chinese audience cheered for the Japan team and the Chinese Taipei team during the opening ceremony despite political tension, you'd realize sometimes sports are just sports. Cheer for them and let the spirit of the Games live!
America is a great country. It's provided a lot of people second chances and I can't get enough of the "american-dream" stories. But America,...must you cry and moan every time you get beat in a sport?!?!!
Sure...there are suspicions of the ages of 3 China gymnasts. But if you watched the competition till 2am in the morning like I did, it should be clear America beat itself by falling off the beam and stepping out of line on the floor exercise. Sure the scores were delayed and interrupted your concentration. But the same applied to every country. Are you telling me you would feel better off had you been beaten by 16 yr olds instead of 13 yrs? Or that if the Chinese were 16 you wouldn't have made your mistakes? Why can't you be courteous and congratulate another country's success? Why can't you show the same support everyone else in the world has shown for Michael Phelps,..your golden son?
I am not even gonna go into other sports that you cried about after losing the gold to other countries. I would just like to remind you that while you have created some of the biggest stars in the Olympics, or Tour de France or baseball...your stars are all seriously DOPED. Only years later they confess and return their medals. But never mind all the scandals, everyone still cheer for your athletes, Kobe is still a rock star in Beijing and the Chinese have made signs for Phelps at the Water Cube. Because you are a great country. So please just remember that it doesn't hurt to show the same courtesy for your fellow sportsmen/women at the Games.

| it was...SO AMAZING!!!!!! i thought Mariah's Emincipation Tour was the bomb and i was able to endure her Diva-ness because MC could really hit the damn notes...but...AK totally blew me away tonight and she topped MC on many different levels! You gotta be there to know what I mean...it was just a VERY AWESOME CONCERT!!!!!!VERY AWESOME!! ALICIA KEYS ROCKS!!!! this chick is the real deal, ladies and gentlemen!
side note: Jordan Sparks and Ne-yo opened for her. Jordan was down to earth and stuck to her role as an opening act; a few well known songs, got the crowd going. Ne-yo on the other hand.....hmm that boy needs to realize he is NO USHER and will never be. Ne-yo SUCKS!
back to being positive...as Alicia Keys advised us to be...it was a very interesting night. And it was definitely nice i could share this experience with birthday girl JENNIFER LIOU!!! happy birthday yo! you are 1/4 Century old :) thanks Daph for handling the tickets...perhaps next time we need to assign someone the responsibility of actual concert time..hahahaha
alright i am tired. concerted didn't end till 12:45AM. peace out! ROCK ON ALICIA KEYS!

| May 8th...one of the smartest people i know grew a year wiser! she is already so clever i don't know how much smarter she can get but hey, the world can always use a super intelligent dentist, right? :P Every year i say pretty much the same things about her..her kindness, her work ethic, and again her cleverness. I realize that it is harder nowadays to sustain the same great qualities in a person than creating new ones. I was really honored to attend her white coat ceremony at UCLA Dental School...because she is like my lil sister and nothing makes me prouder than seeing my family walking towards a bright future. And that she is excited and passionate to be on this road no matter the bumps and stops along the way. she is pretty awesome i must say. I would make this entry longer if I don't have to be in a meeting at 8am tomorrow....but Joyce you get my point. I wish you the bestest things in life and great health. miss ya lots! come back to homie soon! love, Denise
